Wairepo Holdings Limited
"The growers and the rest of KORU® Plumac c.v. team have a real winner on their hands and the future for KORU® looks bright. "
- Simon Easton & Matt Easton, Mariri, New Zealand
Our story:
Wairepo Holdings Ltd orchards, pack house and coolstore operations are situated on the Mariri 'Golden Mile" along the coast between Nelson and Motueka and also further inland in Lower Moutere. Our Mariri orchard has been a family operation since 1910 with four generations of Easton's growing fruit on this land. This family tradition continues on with brothers Simon and Matt now running the business together and parents, Richard and Joyanne still very much involved.
We consider ourselves fortunate to live in the Tasman area which has the ideal climate for horticulture and we take pride in growing high quality fruit. We are passionate about the growing apple industry in New Zealand. Simon is the chairman of the Motueka Fruitgrowers Association which gives growers in the area a platform to discuss industry issues and collaborate with other related groups working on solutions that benefit all growers.

Our involvement in KORU® Plumac c.v:
We first planted KORU® Plumac c.v. in 2006 after seeing it growing on our neighbour Geoff Plunkett's (who discovered the variety) Lower Moutere property. We saw it had fantastic potential and have since planted a much larger area.
We have found KORU® Plumac c.v. to be a really grower friendly apple with large fruit size and high cropping potential. One of it's best features is the out turn of this apple with very few problems in the market compared with many other new varieties available.
