KORU® Apple Bites

Ingredients
Pie crust for one pie (your favorite recipe or store bought)
Filling:
2 KORU® Apples, peeled, cored and diced small
3 Tablespoons brown sugar (can substitute coconut sugar)
2 Tablespoons white sugar for sprinkling on top
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons corn starch
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
Egg wash:
1 egg mixed with a splash of milk or water
Method
- Heat oven to 390f/200c
Preparation:
- Cover baking sheet with baking paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, toss together filling ingredients. Set aside.
Assembly:
- Roll out the pie crust and cut into shapes with cookie cutter. You will need an even number of pieces.
- Put 1-2 Tablespoons of filling in the center of a cut-out of pastry.
- Lightly brush the edges with egg wash and place a second pastry on top of the filling.
- Press the edges of the top and bottom pastries together with a fork or your fingers.
- Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with white sugar.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
To serve:
- Drizzle with caramel sauce and serve with ice cream or yogourt.
