KORU® Apple Fritters

Serve KORU® Apple fritters layered with whipped cream and drizzled with salted caramel sauce, for an over-the-top rich tasting dessert!
Ingredients
4 KORU® Apples, sliced ¼ inch (6 mm) thick and cored
Batter
1 egg white
1 cup (250 ml) beer
1 cup (150 grams) regular flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon table salt
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Canola oil, for frying
Sugar topping
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salted Caramel sauce for dipping
Method
- Whisk egg white in a medium bowl until foamy; add the balance of the batter ingredients and whisk until smooth. Set aside.
- Slice apples with a mandolin so they are evenly sliced.
- Pour 2 inches canola oil into a deep cast iron skillet. Heat until a dot of batter in the oil sizzles.
- Dip apple slices in the batter, shaking off any extra for an even coating. Fry 4-6 slices at a time in a single layer, keeping them separated, about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain on a plate lined with paper towels and sprinkle with sugar topping.
- Serve immediately with salted caramel sauce for dipping.
