If you love fresh apples in your fruit bowl, KORU® Apple is the one for you.
They add beautiful color and maintain their crisp texture on your counter for 1-2 weeks, and if you and your family see them, you are more likely to eat them!
Why do KORU® Apples stay so fresh?
- Thick skin – resistant to bruising
- Firm Flesh – maintains crispness -never floury
- Picked and packed to perfection – our growers and distributors really care
Apples will stay fresh and crisp in your refrigerator for 2-4 months if you follow these guidelines:
- Place in your fruit or crisper drawer
- Set the temperature between 32 and 37 degrees Fahrenheit (0.0 to 3.0 degrees Celsius)
- Lay a damp paper towel over the apples as they need a small amount of moisture to stay their freshest
- If you don’t have room for all of them, find a cool place and rotate as many as you can into the fridge before eating
Tips for storage:
- One bad apple really can rot the bunch--apples produce a large amount of ethylene gas as they decay, so even minor imperfections speed spoilage
- Double check the temperature--storing in colder conditions will cause the cells to break down, leading to mushy, inedible apples
- Do not seal them in an airtight container or drawer--apples need air circulation to ‘breath’
- Don’t store with potatoes or ripe bananas--they release an otherwise harmless gas that causes apples to spoil (Ethylene)
- Don't store apples with strong-smelling foods like onions and garlic--apples can easily take on the odor of those foods
